hold me just for a moment
before i set off flying above
the city and across the ocean
remind me of the things i regret
all the words lost in time and
the stars, oh the stars!
(floating among them is different
than dreams and poems
capturing their beauty)
makes me recall the touch of
your hands on my face while
i pointed out the big dipper on a
silent night next to the water
hold me again and whisper sweet hope
that though i fly and lose all
i once felt, i once knew
innocence and now i must
mourn my worldliness
